History

St. Catherine's traces its origins to the fall of 1864, when the Racine Dominican Sisters [2] established an all-girls' day and boarding academy. In 1924, construction of a high school replaced the academy. The high school was named after St. Thomas, until alumni rallied to have the name forever changed to St. Catherine's. It was also in this year, that the high school allowed young men from the area to attend classes, thus beginning its coeducational tradition.

More than 15,000 alumni have passed through the halls at St. Catherine's since it first opened in 1864.

Most well-known in the state for the success of the boys basketball program led by Coach Bob Letsch. Since merging from WISAA to WIAA in 2000, the angels have won state championships in basketball in 2005,2006,2007,2009, and 2010,
